Four Dimmies and a Jam Donut
Five old mates. One battered bakery. Four dim sims and a jam donut. For nearly fifty years, Thursday has meant the same table, the same arguments, and the same familiar faces. When their beloved Mornington bakery is sold and its owner, Mick, announces his retirement, the friends decide on one last ridiculous adventure: a road trip through the Mornington Peninsula, revisiting the bakeries, beaches, milk bars, old loves, and half-forgotten places that shaped their lives.
What begins with bad knees, too much luggage, questionable memories, and plenty of food slowly becomes something far more important. Old secrets surface, regrets demand to be faced, and the five men discover that growing old doesn't mean the people they once were have disappeared. Funny, nostalgic, and deeply bittersweet, Four Dimmies and a Jam Donut is a story about lifelong friendship, the places we leave behind, and making the most of the Thursdays we have left. After all, this journey was always going to end with one fewer passenger coming home.
